Good first experience of “camping” but would prefer a bit more room and less traffic

This was a first camping trip and was a bit of trial run. The campground was almost completely full when we arrived and there were only 2 vacant spots. We stayed at site 11. It was near the pool and the front office. With the campground being so busy there were no less than 100 golf carts zooming around. This is by no means a “ great out doors “ adventure. There is plenty for the kids to do since there is basketball courts, 3 pools (2 outside,1 indoor), shuffleboard, put put golf, a game room, playground, etc. As far as cons go, the pools’ water was clean but was full of bugs. In fact another guest grabbed the skimmer and I help corral the bugs so he could get them. The vast majority of the sites are FHU with30/50 power. Unfortunately the camp’s power grid was strained with all the campers there running the AC. It made our lights dim several times. My wife flipped the breaker by using a hair dryer when the AC was running. The campground overall was good I guess if you’re looking for somewhere with a lot to do, but if you are looking to connect with nature, look elsewhere.
