This worked well for a spot on our way south. The owner is so nice, and we enjoyed feeding the horses. There are some trails to walk and 2 dog parks. Felt very safe. Sites are a little tight and some road noise from being on the highway. We fit fine in our 43’ fifth wheel. I’d absolutely stop here again.

We stopped at Hitchinpost both arriving in Florida and last night on our way back to Michigan. Vonda is so friendly and helpful. We took our dog on a short walk down her path. It was great to be able to stretch our legs after 5 1/2 hours in the truck. You can hear the noise of I-10, but it didn’t keep us awake. The sites are level and if you are passing thru she tries to put you in a pull-through site. We did a back into site 5 and had a wonderful evening relaxing after a day of travel. When I mentioned that we would be coming back thru in January she asked about what day and she would keep a pull-thru available for us. Vonda is so caring and accommodating. We will be staying again in about 6 weeks.

This is our fourth time stopping here on our in/out of FL. Mrs. Vonda has always been so friendly and she works really hard to keep this place spotless. Every time we come, we see improvements that she has made. Two dog parks, feeding the horse and pony and games for the kids. We will definitely be back!

The couple running this campground were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. This Hitchin' Post is just minutes off of Interstate 10. I was on the first day of a trip beginning in Central Florida and heading west. I had called a couple of days ahead but there were a handful of sites still available around 5pm. Easy access from I-10 and a friendly welcome from the owners made this a pleasant stop and one I definitely recommend. The campground is a little "quirky" meaning the Owner's are doing it their way. But their heart shows and I found it a fun stay. Earl enjoyed nosing the tether ball suspended from a tree in the dog park. I enjoyed the wi-fi which was surprisingly good. The pull-through sites are compacted shell and the roadways have recently been topped with asphalt. As a location, Cottondale, Florida doesn't offer much, but as a friendly stopover, the Hitchin' Post rules. The only annoyance (not the fault of the Owner's) was that Gnats were in out in full. Some of the sites near I-10 could be a bit noisy but this was made clear on arrival. There is a Love's Plaza on the way out which is a good place to get fuel.

They meet/greet/check all guests in at entrance, escort to site, lay out a mat by your stairs and quickly deliver free fire wood. Small private lake guests allowed to fish in. Trail for walking through field and around one side of lake. Dog park areas fenced and common area with several yard games to choose from. Rustic charm, well kept with intentions to expand. Great WiFi and cell service. About an hour drive to Panama City Beach, Two state parks within 12 miles. Nearest towns with stores approx 10 miles. Super convenient to Hwy 231 and I-10. Loves truck stop near entry as well as a McDonald’s and Arby’s. Some sites do have the interstate behind them ours did but the road noise wasn’t an issue for us. We chose the Hitchin Post because of its location to the FL Caverans State Park and the Falling Waters State Park. It is exactly half way between both making it very convenient. We will definitely stay there again when we are up that way!! One other thing to mention is the meat market just down the street from the campground. We got ribeye steaks for the grilland they were the most tender and flavorful we had eaten in a long time. It is also worth checking out!

Where do I begin? Our overall experience was excellent. The most hospitable campground owners we have encountered and we have been doing this for 22 years. We just left the campground 30 minutes ago and I couldn't wait to post this review. When we arrived, they greeted us at our vehicle. Check-in was easy and right at our vehicle. Most places require you to park your vehicle and walk into the office. After check-in, they guided us to our site and assisted us with backing in and made sure we were happy with the site. They are a hard working couple that make it their mission to provide a happy and satisfying camping experience. The campground has a refreshing look and feel to it. The owners have done an amazing job and they continue to add their style. They have amenities for folks and kids to use. Volleyball, bean bag toss, ladder ball, horse shoes and bowling to name a few. They have two dog runs and a corral for horses.Hitchin Post Corral & Campground RV Park is within 30 minutes of the Falling Waters State Park and Florida Caverns State Park. We visited both during our stay and highly recommend them both. Hitchin Post Corral & Campground RV Park is two minutes off of I-10 in Florida, Exit 130. It is very convenient if you need a place to stop for the night, a week or to visit the wonderful state parks nearby. They have 24 full hookup sites, with 20, 30 and 50amp hook up. They have wifi and it works really well. Most of the sites are pull through.
