We had a great time here. The host was friendly and welcoming. The weather was cool with rain in the future, so only two other rigs there. We were told to pick out a spot we liked, and we got a large spot on the river. There are not marked and numbered sites, which ended up feeling like great boondocking. There was a big fire pit at our spot, and we were encouraged to pick up loose wood to burn, so we had a nice fire the first night. The weather was too inclement the other nights. We loved that we could ride our bikes from our site to the Chief Ladiga Trail. We rode each day in between rain spells, going as far as Cedartown in Georgia and east 7 miles to Piedmont, where we enjoyed Elevated Grounds coffeehouse, which caters to cyclists. Elevated Grounds is right off the trail, as is WM grocery store where we could reprovision (surprising how much you can fit in panniers). The Chief Ladiga Trail is great and goes through very pretty country. At the Georgia border it becomes the Silver Comet Trail, which goes all the way to Atlanta. Both are very well maintained and a joy to ride. Had the weather been better we would have stayed longer, and we plan to return next fall if we are coming back east.

We chose this location on our way down to Florida. We love biking so we went a little out of our way. It is a primitive camping spot. They do offer a free dump site near the bathhouse. The bathhouse was clean and showers provided lots of hot water. The fall foliage was beautiful. For the Rails to Trails Bike path, it is only 7 miles to the Georgia line and then another 10 miles to the next little town called Cedartown. We biked from the campground to Cedartown and really enjoyed it. It is mostly flat which can present its own challenges of having to peddle constantly. The bike trail entrance starts at mile 7 and is towards the fenceline as you go up a little hill to get there. The staff at the campground were friendly and helpful. The other campers were helpful and said people also come here to kayak and fish. They said during the summer time, the campground is completely full. We have the access 4 stars because it is a remote campground so you have to drive down country roads to get there but the drive was well worth it.
