Staff was very friendly. This is a spacious campground and easy to navigate even with a big rig. Loop C is newer than A & B loops. Plenty of amenities, pool, basketball court, disc golf, nice clubhouse with pool tables and other games/lounging, Lewis Smith Lake, nice playground, horseshoes, a lake overlook with gazebo and mini golf though it was missing the artificial grass, not sure if it closed permanently or down for repairs. Cullman has the Ave Maria Grotto, a definite must see IMO, Huntsville has the US Space and rocket museum and Redstone Arsenal Army Base. I didn’t get to it but Birmingham has the Civil Rights Institute and the 16th Street Baptist Church and Tupelo is Elvis’s birthplace.Facilities in my loop are very nice and clean. There is a boat launch and nice dock and a small waterfall behind it as well. Jasper and Cullman are the closest cities, about a 20-30 minute drive. There is a nearby gas station and Dollar General.Verizon signal is very sketchy, and non existent depending on where you are in the campground. I was able to make calls but that was it. They do have wifi, free at the clubhouse and a couple other spots. The have campground wide wifi that you can pay for, I stayed for a week and it was $14.95. They have other lengths of time to choose from. It was pretty good for me, Internet usage was good, FaceTime calls were ok ish, cut in and out but phone calls were fine.Sites are gravel, full hook up, and there are 5 tent camping sites. Minor leveling needed for my spot. There are quite a few permanent campers in the good spots with views of the lake, that was kind of a bummer but not detrimental. Site was very large, enough for another camper to fit. It had a nice fire pit ring that doubled as a grill you could flip over and use and had a picnic table. Some birds and squirrels, nothing exciting. Overall, very nice, clean and quiet campground, would recommend visit again.

Just stayed one night with our thousand trails membership as we drove through. Site are nice and spacious. Full hookups at all sites. Strong ATT signal. Weak Verizon signal. Would like to come back when it’s warmer and we have more time to use the lake and pool.

Full hookups and nice park with spaces spread out and plenty of common areas. Highly recommend this park. Nice pool, clubhouse with pool tables, fireplace and Childress area. Playgrounds for the kids, boat ramp and dock. There is also a viewing area that overlooks the lake with deck, tables and overhang.

Luckily our AT&T hotspot was able to handle most of what we needed but verizon and sprint were useless. We have a pepwave for sprint and even that didn't help. The park was great and the cove was cool to swim in. Arley is a dry county and there is not much to do. There is a small grocery store about 15 minutes away but you'll have to go further, about 35 minutes to get to a bigger town or for hiking. We went to Jasper twice for food and supplies from the Walmart and stopped at the chick fil a too. I highly recommend this park! Just know you will be driving a lot to get anywhere. If you are just going to enjoy the cove for the weekend this place is perfect!Oh I also hit a tree while in the park and our RV has a dent. Thats 100% my bad but I am still upset about it. The manager and her husband really treat the campground as their baby and are constantly making sure your stay is going well. Down to pruning the rose bushes between the sites nothing is overlooked. The bath house was incredibly clean, I’ve seen people’s bathrooms in their homes messier than these. I work remote full time, the section we were in (the newer section) had spotty but useable reception. I did purchase wifi and found it to be more than adequate for working remotely. The sites themselves were absolutely massive compared to other campgrounds we’ve been to. We nearly could park our class c sideways in the spot. Plenty of room to back in the rv, put the tow dolly on the other side, and park the car. And still had plenty of room for the fire pit and picnic table.

Everything was nice and green, friendly people all around, and the staff was very hands off.The shower house closest to us didn't have hot water, and the faucet for our site leaks permanently. They didn't seem to mind. There is almost no reception for Verizon, certainly not enough to do anything. If you pay for WiFi, it is the most undependable reception ever. You will either get five seconds or five minutes, then it will boot you off for who knows how long.

We found a spot close to the bathhouse for showering (the shower in our rv feels weak and doesn’t feel very safe for adults). The att cell signal was 3-4 bars the entire time at our spot and data speeds were high enough to stream Netflix nonstop as well as play online games on Xbox and PS4. I did order a cell booster to hopefully gain a bit better service, but I’m not worried if it doesn’t work out. Laundry facilities are clean and easily accessible with quarters. Showers are large and very clean. The only negatives I experienced was that on Tuesday the dumpsters are overflowing with trash as pickup happens on Wednesday and the nearest store that sells alcohol is 45 minutes away. We liked it enough that we booked another 2 week reservation after we spend out 7 day period out of Thousand Trails.

The CG is pretty hilly so a mountain bike rider will have some fun. Some sites are tough to level on but I did not have a problem. Arrived after some pretty heavy rains and the grounds looked it. Very soggy in spots. Don't let your rig fall off the gravel in your spot or you may be in serious trouble. I didn't but looked like some that were there before me wandered off and sunk a good 6-8" or more. The one bathhouse was clean and ok albeit a little old. The lake is nice. I can imagine this place a party spot in the summer. The road in is long and winding and VERY thin. Maybe 3" on either side of my class A to hit each line for a majority of the way. ATT was very good with 20 mbps down and 8 up. Verizon was a struggle but was able to connect with some MIMO antennas to get 1 mbps down and .01 mbps up (YES, .01 up)

Both times we've been there, the manager Becky and her husband Tony have been great to deal with. There are a lot of annuals parked on the lake side of the campground, but if you go on the side to the left, over the small bridge, there are usually less people there and its less busy. We have a cell booster, so we were able to get really good AT&T service. I've never used the campground wifi there, so I am not sure how well it works, but it does seem to cover the whole campground. The pool was open while we were there, but we didn't use it. Its a pretty far walk from the campsites, but I think that is because they intend to add more sites in the area where the pool is. The bathrooms were always nice and clean. They did not have any firewood while we were there, but they have a large brush pile over by the pool and told us we could take whatever we wanted from there for a fire. Had to haul it back ourselves, but I got good and managing to do that.

The park itself was pretty far off main roads and I suggest not listening to your GPS, but to contact the park for directions instead. GPS is unreliable. There is next to no cell service here for any carrier. I work remote and I was able to get enough service with AT&T and Verizon using boosters and antennas. Without a booster or antenna, you will not be able to even make phone calls. The park wifi is unreliable and when you can connect it is slow. The park itself is nice but it is mostly seasonal spots. All the scenic lakefront spots are taken by seasonals and most were not here while we visited. The spots left for transient members and be tricky to get level. We had to try 3 spots before we were able to get level without having to block up. This seems to be an issue with most of the Thousand Trails parks we visit and this one was no different. The park is well maintained and the staff is extremely friendly. The park has lovely lake views from the boat dock and a scenic overlook behind the cabins. The pool was closed, but it looked well maintained. The club house is large and has a number of games and activities along with nice lake views. There are ample hiking opportunities in the area as well as historic points of interest. I suggest getting your shopping done prior to arriving and make sure you stock up on alcohol or you are making an hour drive to get it. This is a dry county.
