We were fortunate enough to reserve one of their riverview sites again this trip. Just awesome. I now rarely award the top rating to parks that lack streamable internet. The internet at our site was inconsistent; definitely not up to streaming. I’ll deal with that to have the awesome view of the river we had!

However, their laundry hours are inconvenient (8:30am to 5pm). We arrived at 3pm, setup, went to the laundry at 3:40 and were told that we could not put in a load because it closed at 5. Our previous park was remote and did not have a laundry so we planned to used this one before heading to Yosemite. Ended up finding a local laundromat. Also when we checked in I was told not to leave anything (chairs, etc) out over night because vagrants may come through and steal them. ???? Needless to stay, you don't want to get comfortable and stay more than one night. I've been full-time for a year. This is my first park less than 4 stars. If they installed a gate/fence and a key-code lock on the laundry, it would have been a 4.

This is a very nice park, clean and well maintained. Plenty of space between sites, the more so because management is only booking alternate sites during the pandemic. Wi-fi was solid and we enjoyed excellent cell coverage with t- mobile 5G at 4 bars. The interstate was nearby but we didn't notice any highway noise to speak of. The park is located on the north bank of the Sacramento River and we enjoyed pleasant walk along the water.

I really enjoyed this RV park. We upgraded to a riverfront spot which is worth it in my opinion. Very clean park with nice amenities and a neat palm tree motif. Access is not very convenient, but worth a bit of a drive out of the way. Would definitely stay here again and wish i could have stayed here longer than one night.

Just needed a quick stop and unfortunately we needed it close to the I-5 freeway. This RV Park was a saving grace to us. The Sacramento River bends around the campground, the place is super clean and quiet, the spaces are large and private, and the birds are incredible. Yes, you could hear the freeway a bit, even from our site which was as far away as we could get, but the serenity of this spot made up for that. We'd definitely go back and we are actually planning on it.Check in was easy and smooth. They were super friendly on the phone when we called to ask for availability. And at the end of October there were still quite a few spots left for last-minute folks.Wifi worked great - thank goodness - because we had a lot of work to catch up on. The Cable TV also worked great. We only needed it to watch the last game of the World Series (otherwise we wouldn't have even turned on the tv). Cell service was full bars of Verizon for us. The place rocked!

This is a really well maintained and clean R.V. park. It was quiet and very reasonable! The pool was closed due to COVID, but hopefully we can check it out next time we go to JGW!

This trip we were headed north, stopping only overnight to visit their final resting place at the nearby Northern California Veterans’ Cemetery. This park is nicer than I hoped it might be. It does have some unusual pull through setups that look to have side by side hookups. They do appear to have been thoughtfully landscaped. We were fortunate enough to have one ‘down by the river’. And it was a bargain at the slight premium price it commanded. This park, at least at these sites, can stand it’s own against the 2 very nice resorts to the north in Redding & to the south in Red Bluff.

Lovely green, grassy park along the riverside. It was REALLY hot here in the end of July. I clocked 109 outside and 104 inside my trailer at 5pm! Unfortunately my AC was on the blink, so it was too hot for me at this time of year. In summer, pay the extra $6 per night and get a Riverside spot! And make sure to ask them for a shaded spot no matter where you decide to park. I did not know this and ended up with too much sun on my little tin can! Fires and smoke are another consideration. It was ok when I was there on July 23rd, but a few days later the Carson Fire, just west of Redding, made the skies thick with smokey, unbreathble air. This is serious forest fire country. Unfortunately, this is one of the things we must start to consider more carefully when planning summer travel in the future.

Beautiful hedges on almost all sites provides a bit of privacy, which is very nice. Permanent concrete picnic tables outside which are nice, so no worry about a cruddy picnic table. The staff was very nice... and this really is a beautiful park. We didn't get a river site, but I was very happy with where we were assigned. We went by the river sites, and they have wonderful views of green grass and trees leading out to the river beyond. Most sites are pull-through making everything easy in; easy out. The down-side to this park is the price. With a AAA or Good SAM discount you can get a site for $47. You can save a few bucks if you give them cash. The price is what originally made my decision to stay here, over the park just past this one. BUT... what we weren't told over the phone is that they have a KID TAX. Now, they don't call it that -- but full-time families know what I'm talking about. A "Kid Tax" is when the park charges extra, per night, for children -- sometimes regardless of age. When checking in we were presented with a bill of $67. At first I thought it was a mistake... but then I remember the lady asked me how many kids we have... So I asked her if they charge extra for children. And yes... yes they do. To the tune of $5.00 per child per night. OUCH!! We have four kids -- 7, 4, 3, and 3 months... and it was $5.00 per child per night. Good thing we were only staying one night. I could see charging for extra adults (or kids over 18)... but really, how much extra electricity does a 3 year old use? or water? or sewer? Even if we had used the restrooms on site, or the pool... is it really necessary to charge that much extra? Not sure how the infant uses $5.00 worth of anything per night, but hey... what do I know? Cellular was great at the park, and they do provide WiFi if you need it. Sadly, this may be one of the highest ratings I've ever given a park I never plan on visiting again. What a bummer... because it is beautiful here. As far as the road noise -- it is located near the freeway, but with temperatures reaching 108° outside we had the AC running the whole time, so we can't comment on how noisy the freeway is. When I was outside I didn't really notice it, but others might be more sensitive to that sort of noise.

When we called for a reservation we got one of the last remaining trailer sites. Not knowing what time we would make it in, they covered the after hours check-in procedure for us on the phone. We did end up makeing it while the office was still open and everything went very well. We got to our pull through site and it was level which was great since this was a no unhitch visit. Although we didn't use any of the amenities (pool, laundry room) we did check out the bathrooms and they were very nice. For an urban campground, it's in a beautiful setting right on the river. Nice big grassy areas to enjoy. The entire park was very clean and we cared for. It was a nice secure spot for the night. The downside is that it's right next to I-5. Our location was about halfway back in the park, but it didn't seem to make much difference. A wilderness experience it was not. We did get a considerable amount of traffic noise, but it was a warm night and some fan white noise helped. The price reflects a GSC and cash discount.

  • Nice stopover right off I-5. We sprung for a riverfront site.

A couple of the state parks and COE campgrounds a little farther south looked good but we needed to drive a longer to let the baby sleep. This looked like the best option in the area. Very clean and orderly with a pretty lawn leading down to the river. Mid winter there were a lotta BC license plates enjoying some slightly warmer weather. Nice person at the desk.Of course, it hurt to pay the site fee when we didn't even unhitch or plugin but paying $25 extra to let the baby nap? Well that's just priceless.
