This will absolutely be the first of many times we stay.

It seemed like the rv area was a little crammed, with the surrounding good spots for full timers. I liked that the camp ground hosts made rounds. The quiet time was 10pm. The host stopped by our neighbors and asked them to not put any more logs on the fire because it was almost 10. Which I didn’t mind. Being new to RVing, I wish there was more room between sites, but I’m learning that RV Resorts like to pack them in.
Quiet, peaceful campground perfect for enjoying the majesty of towering pine trees.

The spaces are set among very tall pine trees, and I spent considerable time reclining in a camp chair contemplating the sky through the tops of the trees. I have solar on my rig, and even with the trees, recharging was no problem. This is a very friendly, low-key campground, and the camp hosts were nice and helpful. There is kayaking, fishing and hiking nearby and Calaveras Big Trees State Park is just a few miles away. It’s a fantastic SP, and definitely worth a visit and the self-guided tour. The price was $48/day for regular sites and $53 for premium. The premium sites are roomier, but the regular sites are fine. For full hookups the price was very good. I was in a premium site, which I had just reserved the week before. The sites are not paved, but I was amazed to discover that I had to do no leveling whatsoever.Wi-Fi was via satellite, and a bit spotty. I got pretty good coverage on my cell phone though. The camp hosts and people I spoke with that had Verizon said their coverage was excellent.

This place was clean quiet and friendly. Just a short drive from sour grass. There is a grocery store and brewery just down the way. Well-maintained. If you have kids bikes helmets are required

The proximity to Big Trees state park is a huge plus and the work campers and owners are extremely nice and helpful. I here this place has really improved since the new owners took over so I look forward to other upgrades in the park. They offer WIFI but like most it doesn't really work. if you need a mobile device make sure its Verizon because nothing else works within ten miles
Nice and quite but lots of permant seasonal rigs

Perfaect spot if you want to go to big trees.I would say you need to be a skilled drive to manipulate the narrow roads to avoid the numerous trees, we had 35’ rig and fit fine but most site won’t accomidate anything bigger. Verizion worked fine but ATT nothing within 20 miles seam to work.

The park is minutes from Calaveras Big Trees State Park and the little town of Arnold, CA. There was no AT&T coverage at the time of our stay. The campground offered wifi for $2/day. The website states it is satellite internet. It makes sense why they need to charge. The internet speed was good, but the latency was what you would expect from a satellite provider. The campground is very quiet. The northern sites have a better view of an awesome valley. There are a ton of tent sites here. The restrooms are some of the cleanest we have seen at a campground and they include showers (coin op). Firewood is available for purchase ($5). There is a pool for use in the summertime. All RV sites are full hookups.
Great privately owned park close to lots of activities

Many sites are permanent (but not full-time residents) yet there are plenty of trailer and tent sites available along with a pool. New owners Ben and Kayla (?) took over Sept 1 and are a very nice couple (previous owners KC and Terri were great too) who are enthusiastic about their new venture! Restrooms and (pay) showers available. Recommend site 59 for large RV/trailer.Close to Calaveras Big Trees State Park (giant Sequoias), the lovely town of Arnold that has a very interesting logging museum and a great Italian restaurant, and 30 minutes from several mountain lakes, although Alpine Lake at the top of hwy 4 gets VERY busy on the weekends/holidays.
