I think back now and would have been better off on one of the treed sites. The sites are very spacious. Lots of room between you and the neighbor. Cell service and wifi were not the best. Make sure to bring your cell booster. Due to Covid they only had one shower/bathroom building open and it wasn't close to us. It was very clean from what I was told. I ended up using our's in the trailer.I would only stay here again if the other options were not available.

Nice spacious sites. Campground was clean and staff very friendly. Easy access to the river. Walking distance to the drive through tree. Water and electric only with a dump station on site. You can also have them come by and collect for a fee. Their wifi was so-so. Only down side is that t-mobile signal was essentially non-existent.

This is a nice camp, super clean, all w/e only but we don’t mind that. It’s very family friendly with great access to the river, and you are literally in the redwoods. Very quiet, even on the weekends. Good wifi. The only negative is the rundown road you have to go down to get to the park, it is full of broke down vehicles and garbage.

Hey have a mix of full hook ups and water/electric sites. We were backed up to the playground which was awesome for us because we have 2 kids. They made some good friends and played hard all day. The river access was great for people and dogs. The dog park is smallish but was still great to have. If you don’t have kids you may be happier not at one of the sites that back up to the play area- otherwise the grounds them selves are lovely. And your just a few blocks from the Avenue if Giants and maybe 6 minutes from the state visitor center. We’ll be back for sure.

The spaces are large enough and they have either full hookup or water and electric. They are always working on this park to make it even more beautiful than it is. It is on the Eel River and during the summer the river was running well and had some nice swim spots. This fall the river was low and they had a toxic algae warning so we had to stay away, but that was ok as it was much cooler. This park is right on the Avenue of the Giants scenic drive and we enjoyed stopping and hiking a bit in the redwoods. The bathrooms were closed due to covid but understandable, that is why we got a full hookup site.We will return here as we love the vibe. It is at the end of a kind of sketchy looking neighborhood but it is an oasis and there was no worries. A bit of noise from the neighborhood but quiet at night.

The showers were hot and clean and our kids loved the park. Our family spent a lot of time down at The Eel River that was a short walk from our house. The views of the park with the river and Redwoods is unforgettable. We brought our 2 dogs and during our 2nd stay were told they had a breed restriction against pit bulls (which we have 1). They could of asked us to leave, but instead we’re nice enough to let us stay - we really appreciated that. The cost of this place is expensive, but it is conveniently located and provides all the amenities.

Biggest issue was the oak tree in our friend's site next to us (14) was dying and full of bugs, which were everywhere! Our friends were still finding them in their truck/trailer several days after we left. The tree also dripped black stuff all over the top of our slide. Pros: the park was very quiet (stayed on a Wednesday), the staff was very friendly, and the wifi worked good. There is a fenced dog area. Did not use the bathrooms.

Check-in was simple, straight-forward and efficient. We stayed here the week after Thanksgiving. Aside from several permanent residents, there weren’t very many others here at the time. Staff were very, very friendly and helpful, and the few permanent residents were equally warm and inviting. Several noted that the campgrounds were packed during Thanksgiving week.Full hookup options, lots of tall, and beautiful redwoods on the side where the DS is located. Our site (#44) was nestled among them. We imagine that the Eel River - a few hops, skips, and jumps from our site - is probably lovely during the Spring/Summer with run-off, but algae bloom signs warn of swimming/wading. Not much going on in the town right up the street that you pass on your way in (if you blink, you’ll miss it), but it is along the famous Avenue of the Giants. The campground seems to be a little bit of a work in progress, but we really liked the rustic charm and their desire to update while preserving the natural setting. When camping here, you will feel the serenity, which is great in such a beautiful environment. The smell of damp redwoods during this time of year is simply marvelous. We had difficulty getting into our reserved site (#43), but staff accommodated us (without fuss or added cost) by allowing us to get into the one right next to it (both back-in). This worked out well since we actually liked #44 v. #43 as numerous redwoods were right next to us. We needed to level our TT, but hey, you’re in the redwoods. Cement is not supposed to be everywhere. The site was deep enough that we didn’t have to unhook our TV.Staff offered us the WiFi password w/200MB of data, which we never used. We prefer to unplug from the daily emails, calls and texts when camping. Cell signal was spotty, but hey, you’re in the redwoods.Thank you for the experience to the staff and residents. We look forward to visiting again.

Our spot was easy to locate, the staff was friendly (and really helpful when we were having issues with our rig), and all the spots were nice and shady! When you stand in the park, you are completely surrounded by high hills of old growth redwoods; you are at the bottom of a giant cereal bowl. The camp is next to a large river, but unfortunately we couldn’t take advantage due to an algae bloom which puts a neurotoxin deadly to dogs in the water (apparently this happens every year). But they had a nice dog run and a cool little playground for kids. There is even a small market within walking distance of the park.Bathrooms: didn't use themHookups: full hookupsDog Park: yesKid Friendly: yes (playground)Laundry: clean, $1.75 per load

It is a bit scruffy all round and needs some more cleanup work. Trash was left in sites and there was very little separation between sites. It is a strange mix of a rustic campsite and an RV park so we had power and water and a fire pit to cook in. The real positive was the bathrooms which had underfloor heating and were warm and clean. Very quiet at night and right next to the river. The staff were all very nice and it was quiet at night. Nearest decent grocery store was south in Miranda.

Good location on a lonely stretch of 101 with few options in the preceding hour or so2. Small fridge and store in office for beer, pop-sicles, nice amenities3. Nice river access (better early in the season--see below)4. Hot showers and bathrooms with code for those who need them5. Water, electric, and cable, but no dump when we stayed due to problems with the systemThe Cons:1. Check-in was lengthy--too much explanation of algae in river, septic issues, cable process, internet limits--repeated for each person waiting, had to fill out a form and then wait for some of that to be entered before card could be scanned. Some kind of system update would improve that.2. Site quality varies dramatically and check-in doesn't seem to place people in the best spot. We arrived at our hook-up site only to have some guys in a tent come over, unplug their mini-fridge from our site, and grumble about it. We moved to a new site because we didn't like their vibe. Two women tent camping who checked in after us were placed near these folks despite the plethora of other sites elsewhere. Some stronger enforcement of the rules, site to site respect, and perhaps eviction of problem guests (apparently these guys were warned not to do that) would be good. 3. Cable was funky: had to be scanned as antenna and was sized down for our modest 20" screen4. Internet is free for up to 200 mb per person, but that is probably par for the location. We got 3g Verizon, so we passed along our internet coupon to a family that needed it.Some of the issues we had with this place seemed to be bad timing: we were there while some problem campers were there, stayed after a long summer when the septic system hit the wall, and arrived when there was a line of guests checking in.That said the location is good, and with some better enforcement and maintenance, it can live it up to its reputation.

Convenient- literally minutes off 101- it is also right on the Avenue of the Giants, the scenic route running through the forest. He campground is at the end of a street running off the main road alongside the south fork of the Eel River. Easily accessed. The sites are nicely laid out and while not as much space as if dispersed camping they are sufficiently large and provide privacy. There are several areas- only 2 PT with FHU but some BI with 50amp, most with 30, and water. Some are in the sun, some are in the shade. Tent sites are along one side closest to the river though no sites have river views due to trees. There is a swimming hole which is perfect on hot days ( in July we had them!) and an outdoor shower to rinse with since they have blue-green algae. VERY pet friendly and the pets may swim in the river but must be rinsed off for their protection. Bathrooms are clean but the water pressure in the showers is pitiful (if you are in a self contained rig you may want to choose to shower in it), the dump, trash/recycling and bathrooms for the south side of the campground are all together and the bathrooms and laundry ($2 per machine and they have rolls of quaters in the office) are on the northside. The office has a small store with essentials (like ice cream bars and Popsicles ;-) ) but there is a market up the street. They have WiFi which we found was variable-usually not strong enough to bother with- but we had 2-3 bars of ATT. The plantings are lovely, campground is kept very clean and nice. There is a small enclosed pet area but pets can be al over on leashes. The staff was all nice and helpful. Sites are level and easily backed into. One note: when leaving after dumping be sure to make a WIDE turn to avoid hitting the bathroom roof. Yes, this is from personal experience.
