Located near the corner of I-5 and California Route 12, the campground shares the area with a lot of gas stations and fast food places, and is surrounded by roads on every side, so there is a lot of road noise. The campground is laid out as a set of concentric rectangles surrounding a large rectangle of solar panel installations. Inside the rectangle of solar panels is a grassy open area that fills up with water (to some extent) to form a large pond at certain times of the year, but it was dry during our stay. Dogs are allowed off-leash in this huge fenced-in area, but the two single-door gates that allow entrance to the area are on nearly opposite ends of the enclosure, so guarding those exits from escape-minded dogs would be challenging. We didn’t see a lot of dog owners using that area: most of them walked their dogs along the fenced dirt and bush outer perimeter of the campground like we did. Dog owners should also be aware that there are a number of cats that roam freely throughout the campground. With the exception of the sites that backed up to the central area, the majority of the sites are pull-through and fairly identical: all of them have concrete pads with a concrete extension to serve as the patio. The rest of the site is covered with large stone gravel. The hookups are all located in a convenient spot about 1/3 of the way from the back of the site and includes a cable hookup. The sites are close together but there’s enough space to put out awnings, though it was fairly windy during our entire stay. Each site comes with a picnic table but no fire pit. We did end up putting a board under one site of tires at our site (E38) to make leveling a little easier. A few sites are designated as wheelchair-accessibleThe office is just off to the left as you pull into the campground: it’s hard to miss with the covered drive-through lanes. Next to the office is the pool with a small circular spa, and next to that a building with showers, restrooms, and laundry facilities. Just across the road from that set of amenities is a propane refill station, a dumpster for trash and a dumpster for recycling, and a clubhouse. There are three other dumpsters located near the outer corners of the campground and two other bathhouse buildings with showers, bathrooms and laundry machines. In terms of cell service, the speed readings I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna the afternoon we arrived weren’t great: after reorienting my antenna a few times, I eventually saw 4Mbps down and 10 up. But on most days, we had decent bandwidth during the morning and early afternoon; downloading web pages or streaming any video became difficult and sometimes impractical during the evenings. The speed test I did with my AT&T phone showed 1.2Mbps down and 1.5 up, but on the few occasions I used it in the evening it seemed a bit faster than the Verizon connection. The campground does offer WiFi (and seemed to have a good number of WiFi towers) but the campground said that the bandwidth would be very limited unless you paid extra so we didn’t even try it.Even with the bandwidth issues, we would probably stay here again if we were in the area.

We asked for a pull through site and got a back in…to mud. The surrounding sites have gravel and large stone areas around the cement pads. We got mud. No gravel, no stones. The truck is parked crosswise to our spot in half a foot deep in MUD. Ugh. Very disappointed and I wonder if we will trust management to return. Otherwise this is a very good, clean and feels safe place. Too bad we got the big mud pie. There is no discernible reason why this spot has no gravel, nothing to keep it from being a mud pie when there is a little rain. I don’t want to put my outdoor rug down into oozing mud.

Sites are near by and there is no privacy. Between the sites are trees and rocks – which used to be weeds and sparse grass so a great improvement. The basic WII FI didn’t work. You have to pay extra for, what I presume, is more reliable and speedy internet. Verizon was 5g 5 bars so our hot spot worked fine. Satellite would not be a problem. The park is in a very busy area. There are lots of trucks and traffic noise from I-5, Banner road and 12.

Did not use laundry, pool, or other facilities.Dog Friendly: The quite large sunken center area was used for a large dog area and surrounded by solar panels. Dog bags were provided (if only people would use them instead of being rude).Wi Fi: The free wi-fi is all but useless. It was advertised as limited to support basic browsing and email checking with additional paid options for downloads and streaming etc. Unfortunately, I found basic web browsing and email checking to be painfully slow (click, wait, wait, wait) and actually gave up. I was simply trying to do site reviews for other nights and nothing fancy.Noise: The major road nearby road can be heard and there was a truck area on the next block that the neighbors mentioned hearing one night. With the fan/ac running, we did not have issues.

We had a back in site which was really easy to back into. The spacing between sites was standard private campground spacing, not too close but still a little. Luckily we had a site that didn't have anyone in the adjacent site so we were able to enjoy a little more space. The entire campground was clearly well designed and maintained and it was easy to maneuver the camper. There is a very large dog park around the size of a football field in the center of the campground that our dog really enjoyed playing fetch in. We enjoyed the pool and spa almost every day. The camp shop was also well stocked (wine and beer also for sale). One complaint we have is that our site had not yet been landscaped/rocked like all the other sites. Even though all sites are concrete pads and patios, the surrounding area for our site was dirt/dust/mud while almost every other site was neatly landscaped and had landscaping rocks. It looked like they were doing this one site and a time so next time we go I'm sure that site will be landscaped. Another issue we noticed was that our picnic table was at it's end of life and needed to be replaced. It looked like they were replacing picnic tables but hadn't finished the entire campground yet.We stayed at Flag City for 2 weeks in our 36' Fifth Wheel in site C27. $700 bi-weekly rate.

I had made a "reservation" the day before on their website, one of those ones where you do not have to provide any credit card information, nor do you get to chose your site. After I sent it, their automated response stated that my request would be responded to within 24 hours, however it was only a couple of hours. Very easy check in after we arrived and no one asked to see my PA card.Freeway noise, but we had the AC cranked and did not hear it while inside the RV.

We stayed here another time in the ‘E’ section which was more quiet since its furthest from the interstate. Good park for passing through or staying a while to explore the area, nice cable, didn’t use the WIFI. Had decent 5G on ATT and TMobile. They offer good normal sized laundry for $1.25 per wash and $1 for a 45 minute dry. Didn’t use the pool but it looked nice and clean. Also a nice littleshop with lots of essentials including beer and local wines. Michael David Winery is just down the street, and I would highly recommend making a reservation for lunch or a tasting there. Wish the staff in the office wore masks but at least they are behind plexi barriers.

The check in was VERY quick and the staff at the desk answered every question I had before I even asked. The pull thru site was easy to find and get into. Utilities were well laid out and easy to access. There is a parking bollard that protects the power pedestal that is very close to the concrete pad where you park your RV so watch your slide outs. This seemed to be the case at every site. Sites are pretty close together and that was really the only downside to this RV park. The folks in the next spot were smoking cigars so we had to close up all our windows and couldn't enjoy the night breezes. Used the free wi-if which was adequate but our cell service was good enough to stream without paying for their extended wi-if to do same. Nice place to stay for a couple days, but not attractive as far as scenery goes...

WiFi is very basic for simple web browsing, otherwise they have a sliding fee schedule for additional stronger service. That would be my only negative as far as an overnighter.

Pull through (70 ft) was long enough for us to stay hooked up. There is also a Loves and Pilot less than a mile away.

The pool and spa were really nice, as was the restrooms and laundry rooms. Laundry was only 1.50 wash and 1.00 dry. You have to get a prepaid card from the office instead of quarters to work the laundry. The concrete pull through pads were really nice but the spaces were pretty tight for larger rigs and the space between was dirt and got really muddy when it rained. You have to pay for the WiFi by the day(2.99). The dog park was awesome it was so huge. Would stay here again if in the area. P.S. make sure you have passport America, it cuts the price in half for the first 2 nights. And tons of cable channels!

While we didn't have a chance to explore the area much, it's convenient to the Lodi wineries. We got a terrific half price rate through Passport America, and with that it was a good value for a large pull-through site, full hook-ups and strong cell coverage (although the free wi-fi signal was weak at times.)Dog's Perspective: the interior roads are wide and there was very little traffic when we were there so we were able to walk around without a problem and there's also a dedicated dog play area. The biggest miss is that the sites are not landscaped- there's no grass and a couple of dry bushes by each site so there's no place for your pup to sit outside during the day.Runner's Rave: if you don't mind running along the road, you can get a good run in alongside a number of local wineries that start about a mile and a half from the park.Downsides: some grass would go a long way to improving the setting. Also, the park's immediate surrounding area is very commercial - you're in the middle of a fast food cul-de-sac and need to go a couple miles to get to wineries and a more attractive area.Overall, this is a clean park in a good location especially if you can get a discounted rate.

Two days into our two-week stay a construction project started behind our rig. The next morning at 8:15 there was drilling, and forklift loading and dumping that we woke up to. The management was unwilling to move us to a spot away from construction even though the park was only half full. I asked for a refund, which they begrudgingly granted, but instead of prorating the weekly rate, they charged us the more expensive nightly right. When I questioned this, I was told by the manager that the owner did not want to refund us at all. What bothered me most was not the construction, but the complete lack of customer service. It felt like I was bothering them by complaining. I asked to have the owner call me, but he never did. Even though I disagree with them overcharging us, I will not waste my time dealing with them further. What started as a bad experience, we were able to enjoy, because we made use of our Harvest Hosts membership for the week, and got to enjoy the welcoming hospitality of area vineyards.

Flag City is a convenient stop over for exploring the Lodi Wine country. The reception was friendly and efficient. The park is clean, a bit austere but easy access off I5 and lots of fuel options nearby. There is interstate drone but not bothersome. Would definitely stay here again.

Sites are concrete, long and pretty level. There is a small patio area. We couldn't put our awnings out due to trees which provided sparse shade. Mostly dirt between sites – looks like they planted some ground cover but it didn't quite take. The one time I used the laundry facilities all of the washers (door and seals) were dirty. The dryers had lint in all the screens, and one smelled moldy/mildew. WII FI did not work. Directv worked fine. Verizon was 4g 4 bars. This is a busy park with mostly overnight stays. There are lots of long term tenants but most of the sites were neat and clean. There is the constant drone of noise from freeway no matter where you are parked. Very for convenient for visiting wineries.

Flag City is on the pricy side, but if you are tooling around in a massive wheel or diesel pusher, you'll appreciate it! Many of the sites are pull-thru and have spacious pads. The living space between sites is awkward, with picnic tables placed too near your neighbors black tank dump stations. After being on the road boondocking and state parking for 6 weeks, the jacuzzi at Flag City was a welcome, much needed respite. There's also a pool that is lap sized. Bathrooms and shower facilities are very nice, as well as the laundry rooms. The real value in Flag City is its proximity to Lodi's vineyards which are just down the road. You could walk to the Michael David vineyard if you wanted to (which happens to be the producer of one of my favorite Zin's- 7 Deadly Zins) and enjoy their cafe and farmers market. Or you can drive thru the Lodi Wine Trail. There's an RV wash within a 1/4 mile if your rig needs a spa day.We are not resort campers, but I'd make an exception for this one. Relax, enjoy, and like the Eagles sang, get "Stuck in Lodi, again...."

Level, long concrete pads are a plus, but hook-ups are located towards the very rear of the site. We have to park the dinghy in front of the coach to access them. The poor choice of groundcover between the sites is not intended to be walked on and usually looks pretty bad. With Ca's drought conditions it hasn't been watered and looks even worse. This park would really sparkle if they used artificial turf. Passport America is honored at the times we usually visit. Lots of fast food choices at the truck stop complex nearby. All services a little further east in Lodi.
