While March might not be the best time of the year to enjoy all the amenities, we did like our stay at River Oaks. Our site was parallel to the bordering street, but there was no traffic as it serves only two homes. The laundry and bathroom facilities are new, clean and tidy. The grass is trimmed, the shrubs pruned and everything is waiting for spring! There is a playground structure for kids and large picnic tent shelter, as well as lots of grassed area for kids and pets to play. The park is located beside a municipal soccer field, but the permanent homes would block any noise from kids' weekend games. The Similkameen Trail, which is part of the 1200 mile Pacific Northwest Trail from the Olympic Peninsula to the other side of Glacier National Park, is only a block away. Most of the RV sites are back-in, although there are three pull-thru sites. About forty sites back onto the Similkameen River, which is separated from the campsites by a wide grassed flat area.Access and signage are good, we didn't have any problem finding the park. Hookups are 30 Amp, water and sewer connection are at each site. There's also a pretty good WIFI in the park, although there were only 15 or so other RVs so it might get slower as the park fills.

  • On the river, quiet and great views

This is a very nice campground with good level parking on gravel with grass between and behind the space. There isn't much in the town but a large grocery store and several gas stations make this a pleasant weekend or overnight stop. The park's WiFi is good and AT&T coverage is great.
