Arches NP and Moab are about 35-40 minutes away and Canyonlands is about 45-50 minutes away. There is 1 washer and 1 dryer. $4 for a wash and dry or $2 for each if you only need one or the other. It was quiet for the most part BUT there are 3 different trains that pass through just on the north side of the park: cargo, Amtrak and the Rocky Mountaineer and all blow their horns as they go by.

Thompson Springs is a tiny town just off I-70, and about 30 minutes from entrances to Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park, and similar distance from Moab. The campground is clean and well kept up, with good shower and laundry facilities. But the differentiator was how friendly and helpful the hosts were. Our mail delivery service arrived a couple days after we had left Ballard RV park, but the hosts offered to drive 45 minutes to meet us halfway to our next campground!! Their kindness saved us at least an hour and a half of extra driving, and they refused to take any payment for the assistance. Such great people!!

The hook ups were pristine, they look brand new. All the sites are nice, mostly level, pull throughs. There aren't many views to speak of and little to no privacy. It was 3 stars for us but a nice stop over on our way through town.

You have to pay the lady in the office, as they are residential machines and don't take quarters. The staff was very nice and they were busy. The sights were gravel and very well maintained. This was a great place to re-group right off of the I70 before we headed over the Rockies into Colorado. Its a basic campground but the cheapest in the area and very well maintained. We would absolutely stay here again.

Lee can point you to several local trails and historical sites that are awesome to visit (petroglyphs and ghost town as well as the back way into Arches). Bathrooms and laundry were super clean and very nice. Water spigot was heated/insulted in winter so you don't have to unhook at night (so nice). I can't recommend these guys enough... awesome!

It is about a 40 minute drive to Arches but the savings is well worth it compared to the closer campgrounds at $60-$110 a day! Very nicely laid out and the sites are about 100' long. Great water pressure and no bad taste but high pressure so use a regulator, power is right on que. They are working on an addition for 21 more sites. If you love to ride BLM land is only a 1/4 mile away, and 5 miles into BLM is Sego Canyon with rock art dating supposedly to 7000BC. There is art all over on both sides of the road. Respect the private property though and take your pictures from the road. Also we were here in early october and my dog sniffed out a rattle snake so be careful of plowing through grass, this one was snuggled up under a bush minding its own business. Just be careful. Oh and the view around the park is awesome with huge tall mesa's. Some trains at night and a couple a day are amtrak. I would definitely come back to this park, the folks running it are super friendly.

The sites are level, the bathrooms/showers are private and very clean, good Verizon cell service, and quiet except for a train every once in a while. When we first arrived the washer and dryer were free to use but then a few days later they had put up a sign to pay $4.00 (honor system) to wash and dry a load (still a deal for laundry). The only negative I had was the sites face each other so that you and your neighbor must share a picnic table and outside area. Not a deal breaker because we would stay here again. Overall this park is a five star for me. I struggled with the location star only because it is out in the Middle of nowhere which we did not have a problem with but others may. Our visit May 21-24 2019.

They are FHU sites and the cool weather allowed us to just use 30 amp for $5 less per night. The water pressure is very high, so a good pressure regulator is necessary. There are trains that occasionally run by, but I did not hear them in the night and it was otherwise a quiet campground. The setting wasn't beautiful like so many other Utah locations, but it was fine. There wasn't much shade, so the summer could be hot.Verizon with a WeBoost was 3-4 bars and we were able to stream video with that except in the evenings when there must have been some heavy users on a limited Verizon signal.Arches is 33 miles away and Canyonlands is 45 miles away, so it isn't right around the corner, but the price reflects that. There are almost no amenities on this exit except a gas station.

We were the only rig here during our stay (they also have rentable trailers that were full the entire stay), so it was incredibly quiet and spacious. The management here is friendly, helpful and passionate about their park. Park is located in a 'ghost town', although I don't think Thompson (location) is ready to admit that. That being said, it is at least a 40 minute drive to civilization (we loved that). There is a gas-station/convenience store right down the road for emergencies! Great hook-ups, no issues there. There are ancient pictographs and petroglyphs as well as an 'admitted' ghost town right down the road (we rode our bikes there and back, ~10mile round trip.) There are train tracks nearby, so the occasional train whistle can be heard but it was not distracting- more charming than anything. Overall, great little RV park that'll have you star gazing at night and relaxing in a zen life quiet during the day.
