We stayed here in mid January while visiting San Antonio. The campground wasn’t difficult to reach although our GPS would not accept the address. There are two routes to reach campground - we found that Culebra Rd (FM471) was better than Portanco Rd (FM1957) for larger rigs. When we were about 15 minutes from the park, we called ahead to get the gate code. A welcome package was left at the front office/laundromat for us which included some area information and a very comprehensive rental agreement/rule list. The campground was clean, well kept up and the owners were very pleasant. I really appreciated the time they took to send weather warnings/updates while we were there (severe weather watch). The two washers/dryers worked very well and were easy to use. The sites were not very wide and were pretty close together but everyone was quiet so noise from the park was not an issue. There was some road noise -mostly during the day. It was at least a1/2 hour drive into San Antonio.

The comments on the campsites closer to San Antonio did not suit us at all and although it was not noted yet, we decided to go here for a two night stay. What a good decision! It's an excellent campsite, not very big 25 sites, but everything is there.A laundry at a decent price $ 1.50 wash and $ 1 dryingSome small nature trails including one that leads us near to the river.A dog park on grass and firewood is provided at the common fireplace.Note that the WiFi is excellent throughout the campground, when you are working on the road, it is a very important thing. This is not a family campsite but for travelers like us this is the place. San Antonio is at 35 minutes. It is necessary to call in advance because a code is necessary to pass the gate. The night price it with Passeport America We highly recommend this campground.
