So excited when I found this place on my Route 66 adventure. It's an 1950s motel. The owners have brilliantly added a couple of RV spots. The spot under the sign is w/e. 50 amp. Best part is this little town that is trying to make a come back. (Reminds me of the movie Cars) Everything is a short walk from the Inn. Enjoy Happy Hour at the Cactus Rose Taproom and relax in their lovely beer garden. Breakfast burritos are a must at the Chuckwagon. Walk over to the Devil's Rope and Route 66 museum (donations accepted), snapping pics of the murals along the way. Check out the gas prices at the first Phillips 66 opened in Texas. It's a fun stop and a great way to support local businesses!

We took 287 to 273 to get to McLean and the drive in was beautiful. We communicated with the host the morning of arrival to notify them when we would be arriving. They messaged back within an hour or so, and asked us to pull in and check-in at the office to find our spot. We booked through hip camp and paid for electric and were pleasantly surprised to find full hookups available. The site was fairly level tucked behind the Inn. We enjoyed a quick dinner at the steakhouse nearby and had a very restful evening. Really quiet and safe area. We will definitely be back when passing through!
Great overnight stop in the Texas hill country.

Great overnight stay! Host was very accommodating. Spot is level, no problem to get into and out of with our 35 ft 5th wheel. Easy interstate highway on/off access but far enough away from the highway noise. We used the water and 50 amp hookups for the $20 fee as Harvest Host members. Easy interstate highway on/off access but far enough away from the highway noise. We used the water and 50 amp hookups for the $20 fee as Harvest Host members. (May be different for non members) Campendium list it as having sewer access but the site does not have it. The Red River Steakhouse (Open Tuesday thru Saturday) is next to the Inn and is a good dinner option with fast, friendly service, tasty menu options and reasonable prices.
