We stayed at the Saluda River Resort for one night using Passport America. It's not too far off the highway and an acceptable paved road leads into the campground. Much of the resort consists of seasonal and permanent sites that are for the most part well cared for (with a few notable exceptions). The transient campsites are on the perimeter and border the creek and marina. There are two sections: Campsites 1-10 border the creek and Campsites 20-30 are close to the marina. We stayed in a campsite close to the creek. You may have some difficulty getting level on these sites, particularly on rigs longer than about 25 feet, due to the slope down from the road. However, you will have a small creek directly outside your door. The grass is at times a bit sparse on these sites due to the trees. The campsites near the marina may be more appropriate for a larger rig. They are big and grassy and look reasonably level. If we had been staying more than one night we would have preferred one of these sites. Regardless of which site you choose, you can expect to be close to your neighbors. The camp staff were very helpful and accommodating. There is a centrally located swimming pool on site. We did not go swimming but I did notice the staff cleaning the pool on the morning we left. The campground does appear popular with fishermen. In addition to fishing boats, there were quite a few bank fishermen. I may be spoiled by state parks, but I would be reluctant to pay full price to camp here. The one exception would be if I were a fisherman with a boat. They are set up to cater to your needs and have a good marina right on the river which leads into Lake Murray. It also might be a good spot to get together with several other camping friends.
