We did make a reservation which was a good thing as they were full. All gravel interior and sites. Very windy and dusty. Sites are close with some closer than others. There are no trees and no privacy. Our site was not level in a couple directions. It was low on the PS and rear. We had to stop the levelers before we got the dreaded twist error. There is one trash bin by laundry building. The WII FI didn’t work; however, Verizon was 4g 4bars so we used our hot spots. Satellite wouldn’t be a problem. They have cable but we didn’t try it. I think some reviews are for Tonopah Station Casino where the sites are behind the casino. Sites here are in front of the motel near 95, and there is the rumble of tractor trailers 24/7. We would not sure we would stay here again.

  • Friendly, helpful staff at the desk.

We stayed in a 50-amp space in our 38.5’ A class. Clean, quiet, very affordable. Had dump station, non-potable water to fill tanks but not at site. Cable hookup available. Showers/bathrooms clean. Excellent WiFi. Just off the highway, a little early morning road noise.

Stay for the night on our way to Yosemite. Very clean and convenient. Any complaining must have been looking for a KOA and not a one night stay. Although you could stay a few days and be comfortable.

  • Better location now for an overnighter than just 2 years ago

This review is written from an overnighter point of view versus a destination campground (CG). We were glad to see a high of 90 here versus the 110 prediction we’d just left. We were amazed how Tonopah had changed in two years and found out the reason. Silver and gold veins had again been found in the hills near here. The discovery of silver is what originally got this town started. Even the famous Clown Hotel and adjourning cemetery had a new owner and face lift. Several movies and documentaries had been made based on this haunted motel. Check in was easy and we were assigned pull through site 18 with FHUs out in the front (all the sites here have FHUs). The cost of the site seems to be based on how many times you have stayed here. We got a discount for being repeat customers. We hooked into their WiFi and found it OK. We also used their cable and found it to be a little fuzzy. Last time we were here both were better but there are way more people staying in the CG and motel this time around. There was a class A checking in at the same time and since they were staying a week they were placed in another area west of the office behind the motel. The sites back there are spaced a little wider apart. There were way more gas stations and restaurant options than last time. You are right off US-95 so there is some traffic noise but it slows down at night. Keep your awnings in here as the wind comes at a moment's notice. If you're tired and want delivery, try Hometown Pizza. We were told an hour for delivery and they came in 35 minutes plus the pizza was good. Even better location now for an overnighter as long as the boom continues.

I noticed everyone’s rear jacks were fully extended as were ours. It’s ok for one night but make sure your water tank is full, jacks are working and you have a hot spot or DVDs!

Staff was friendly and helpful. Bathrooms/showers and laundry were good enough. Spots were a dirt lot with full hook-up and cable. All in all a good stopover when heading between CA and NV.Wi-Fi signal was decent for emails and searches but probably not for streaming.

  • Great stop over spot

That said, this park is well situated on the North end of town with easy access. It is a motel, monthly rentals and RV park all in one. The RVs are up front, all pull through sites with full hookups. Unfortunately depending on the time of year you camp at this altitude, as with many parks we have seen, the water is off to prevent freezing and damage to each spot. Not a problem as the kind lady who checked us in, Barb, informed us of this prior and we were parked in the dump station area so were able to top off our fresh tanks there before parking. All sites are gravel and fairly level- set up was a breeze. Barb also let us know to take the side dirt road out to the pavement to avoid some pretty significant dips in the dirt driveway right in front of our sites, great info to know about ahead of time. The wifi is fast enough to stream Netflix, the spaces are large enough for big rigs with any number of slides. The highway is right in front of you, as it is in most places in Tonopah, so you will have traffic noise, it did not bother us much really. There were picnic tables at each of the sites, which is different than previously noted by another review. We did not access the bath house or laundry area, yet they are on site and the office provides all information you could want. Since they are a hotel also, the office is available until 10 pm should you have any issues or questions. Tonopah has a wonderful mining history and there is a Mining Museum which we were hoping to visit, but we felt we just didn't have enough time as it was getting toward closing time- so plan to return on another voyage to check it out. Lots of options for gaming, gas stations (cheaper deisel at the smaller stations if you can unhitch you will save about 20 cents per gallon, however there are larger stations on both ends of town with a Texaco on the South end that has trucker access pumps as well.In summary, we have been through Tonopah in the past, so were prepared for options and are happy with this little park. You may have some rowdy hotel guests, traffic noise, and less amenities than some parks, but, in the middle of the high desert, this is a great option. I have paid more and gotten less service and security so for a night or two, we will come back again.

The lady at the desk was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The restrooms were clean and well maintained. The not so good. The area is just big gravel parking lot. Our was site not level as it tilted sideways. There are no picnic tables or grills. The restroom building is small. There are several long term stay double wides on site. On our stay there was noise coming from these units late at night. It seemed to us that $35 was a bit much to pay for what is essentially a parking spot. Otherwise ok for a stopover.
