There are some nice trails in the back that lead into the woods. The owners are pleasant and energetic, and politely maintain a welcoming, calm atmosphere. There are a range of hook ups for water and power, with most of those having sewer hook up also. There are also some rustic sites. In August, site 2 has pin-cherries dropping, but shade is wonderful.

We really enjoyed our stay. The owners are very nice and helpful. The grounds are almost manicured. While we were there they were replacing sections of grass with sod and planting many flowers. Our site was perfectly level and had big natural area behind it. Bathrooms were very clean and well kept.

Great quiet place with really large sites. If you have young kids they have a nice playground ! My 7 year old didn’t want to leave. The full hook up sites 36-41 are the nicest imo

Very glad we found this, even though the campground was full it was very quiet. Friendly owners. No store but they have good firewood. Bathrooms are clean. Very good cable tv.

  • It's close to everything.

Wifi available and if you're in the front half of the park its pretty fast too. Cheap firewood. And no outside firewood is allowed in. They have ice and a few basic camping items available. If you need more Newberry is a 5 minute drive and theres an Ace Hardware, Napa, etc. No pool, but lots of kids activities. Its a short drive from Tahquamenon Falls, Paradise and Whitefish Point, Munising, Grand Marais, and the bear ranch. Kind of centrally located in the UP so Sault Ste Marie, Big Spring, Marquette, all within 2 hours. Yes, there's lots of bugs. That's the UP. Its like that everywhere. Owners do spray the park for mosquito control. A couple citronella candles kept them at bay around our fire. We hang a bug zapper anyway. We have been coming back here for years. Owners are about the coolest people you could ask for. Great place! Very clean. Reasonable site rates. I wish more were like this.

They give you a free decoder box, with instructions, which took my 15 minutes to figure out and set up for like 40 channels of cable TV. Have seen nothing like this anywhere else, and is so needed at every campground for long stays. We got a discount via GOOD SAMS to the $36 night FHU as that was the only spot available. You can visit the WHITEFISH POINT lighthouse area from here, which is a nice drive. Also went to Tahquamenon Falls to get in a great view of a famous natural waterfalls. Also if brave you can drive to CRISP POINT (15 miles out a dirt road to a lighthouse - can be driven with a two wheel drive truck, or four wheel anything, but the road is tough and hard to navigate). Did and got the sticker, LOL.

We stayed 5 nights in the middle of September 2018. The owner was very nice when reserving and when checking-in. The campsite has 50 campsites. The sites are laid out in a circle which makes it very easy to navigate around. My husband called it crop circle campground because of the way it looked on the GPS. They have tent sites, electric only, water & electric and full hookup. Some of the sites also have cable available. They have Wi-fi as well for a fee, but we did not use it. We were able to get around 2 bars 4G LTE with the AT&T hotspot and only about 1 with Verizon. It was enough for me to work and for us to watch Netflix in the evenings. The campsite has a dumpsite and fresh water. We booked an electric only site, so we filled water at the dump station on our way to our spot. The water had little to no pressure therefore it took some time to get the tank filled up. Had easy access to the dump station on the way out as well. The campground is well kept. Everything was clean and well maintained. They have showers, restrooms, playground, basketball court, horseshoe pit and a volleyball court (did not use any of these). They also have a small laundry room. It was $1.50 to wash and $1.50 to dry. There are two washers and two dryers. Laundry room was clean, and machines worked as expected. The sites are large and would fit any size RV. We were able to level without blocks. Downtown Newberry had a grocery store and other services and is about 5 miles from the campground. Overall it was a good place to stay in the UP. We would stay here again if ever in the area.
