Right off the interstate. Clean park. Nice picnic tables, fire pit. Showers and bath house. No laundry. Have to hold shower button for about 5 seconds of spray. Hard to shower like that. Nice shade trees. Creek nearby and a large field where children can play

This campground is right along route 40 and so the sound from the highway is one reason why I gave it three stars. The other reason is the first spot we were given had a broken water hook up, and we had to wait for the host to come and move us to a working site. It’s at the end of a steep but well-maintained gravel road.

The owners are super nice and helpful. The place is beautiful with a meadow, playground, and small river with small waterfall. We loved walking the grounds. It is close to I-81 so you can hear the vehicle noise but it really didn't bother us at all. We would absolutely stay again!

Lanie is very accomodating, and helpful. There is a stream that we'd like to swim in sometime in the summer (we're here on Nov 4th, so too cold) or kayak with a swift current. There's a big hill to climb to get to the place, but as long as there's no snow... Park was clean and quiet; they have showers and toilets, but we stay in our Airstream (self quarantining in these crazy times). The garbage dumpster was FULL, and hard to put any more in it, but I'm sure that was a temporary situation. It's close to Rt. 81, so if you're traveling, it's easy on easy off. Beautiful area!

  • Real nice campground.

Really nice campground. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help us. The road in is dirt and longer then expected. It is a fairly step clime to get to the campground, but well worth it. The distance between sites is amazing. They give more then enough room which is really great. A unique spot off of the interstate. There was traffic noise, with AC running you may be able to tune it out. The creek was pretty. I needed to use extension cord when keeping my car connected and pull fully into the space because connection was on the rear of the lot, would of worked better if pulling a trailer. One review said the road was paved... my remembrance was that it was gravel. Kind of a minor thing, but my tow car needed a wash afterwards because of dust, just because of this I may be looking for another park in the future.

Incredible. 50, 30, and 20 amp power, water, and sewer at most sites, green grass, fairly level gravel spots that are mostly pull-through. We were greeted by owners (I assume) later in the evening and brought right to our spot, they took care of everything, made sure we were ok, and understood the hookups (with cable I might add!) Restrooms are newly redone, fairly clean, although a fair bit of bugs stuck all over, and seals aren’t as tight as they could be, and a push-button instead of knobs, but compared to other campgrounds, this was far better.Added bonuses: they accept American Express, and there’s a little creek nearby to hang out at! Also it seems that most spots have a well built fire pits for campfires.

The checkin was quick and easy and they escorted us to our site. Most sites are pull thru with ample space between each spot, a fire ring and picnic table. There are a few trees, but no privacy or shade. The property is beautiful, with a stream, small waterfall and a lot of open green space. The only drawback is that it is so close to the highway, you can't avoid the traffic noise day or night. There is a playground down by the stream and it is also where the tent sites are. There is a lot of room for kids to run around and play (we didn't see any while we were there) and nice spots to take a chair and read by the stream. Our site was mostly level, others weren't so good. The campground was uphill from the stream. The bathhouse was clean, but we didn't use it. The location is convenient to Wytheville and we enjoyed the dinner theatre and the rooftop bar and restaurant at The Bolling Wilson Hotel. There are also a couple nice state parks nearby. I would stay here again, if in the area, but the traffic noise would make me look around first.

The tent sites along the river looked nice, and there was a very large field where we could walk the dogs. The staff was friendly and helpful. One drawback is the campground's proximity to I-81, just a few hundred yards away. The noise from the highway was audible day and night. We stayed for a week in August 2014, and for most of that time the campground felt like a ghost town. Most of the sites had an RV in them (seasonal, I assume), but we rarely saw another person - the RVs were just parked there. That did however mean that the Wi-Fi worked pretty well during the week. Some seasonal renters did show up and stay in their RVs during the weekend, making for a more interactive environment (and slower Wi-Fi). The trees between the sites are still young and small. In a few years when the trees are bigger, the sites will feel more cozy.
